Rayen boys, Mineral Ridge girls earn Rocket Invitational honors



LOWELLVILLE -- The Rayen School boys took first place with 133 points, while the Mineral Ridge girls won with 111 in the Rocket Invitational Mark Cavalier Memorial track and field meet Friday at Lowellville High School's stadium.
The Tigers' boys took first place in the 4x200-meter relay in 1 minute, 34.8 seconds, the 4x100 relay (45.6) and the 4x400 relay.
Rayen's Marquinn Davis won the shot put with a toss of 50 feet, 7 inches.
Ron Snyder of Springfield won the high jump (6-2) and the long jump (19-8).
Ryan Pal of Lordstown took first place in the 110 high hurdles (16.7) and he tied for second place in the 300 hurdles (43.8).
Nicole Honsaker led the Mineral Ridge girls to victory.
She took first place in the 100 (13.2), the 400 (62.5) and the 200 (27.1) and she finished second in the long jump (15-31/2).
Rachel Mariotti of Lowellville won the 100 hurdles (16.4) and the 300 hurdles (47.8). Ali Grapevine of the Rockets took first place in the 800 (2:29.9) and she finished second in the 1600 (5:45.3) and the long jump (15-31/2.
Monica Ciarniello of Springfield took first place in the 1600 (5:29.9) and the 3200 (11:53.1.
Kelsie Crowder of Newton Falls won the high jump (5-0) and the long jump (15-43/4).
