Butler County crash leaves 3 dead

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Three people died after a car veered into oncoming traffic in Butler County and collided with another vehicle, state police said.

Brian Benscoter, 26, of Hilliards, was driving north on Route 308 in Cherry Township around 9 p.m. Friday when his car struck a vehicle driven by John Spinetti, 28, of Butler, according to state police. Both men were killed.

A passenger in Spinetti’s car, Angela Barnhart, 24, of Butler, also died.

Benscoter’s passenger, 28-year-old Robert Benscoter, was ejected from the vehicle and run over by another car. He was hospitalized with major injuries.
