Sons of Italy Lodge 858 elects slate of officers


YOUNGSTOWN — The election of officers was on the agenda when the Youngstown Lodge 858 of Order of Sons of Italy in America met April 15 at the Croatian Home, 3200 Vestal Road.

Chosen to head the organization through March 2009 were: Timothy Komara, president; Luigi Farina, vice president; Joanne Maylis, orator; Chuck Burelli, recording secretary; and Amy Komara, secretary/treasurer.

Serving as trustees will be Romano Ianiri, Angelo DiLoreto, Dominic DiLoreto, Mike Rossetti and Antonio Deccio.

Named as convention delegates were Burelli and Thomas DiBernardi. Patsy Fillaccio will be the chaplain, and Phyllis Zizzo, mistress of ceremony.

Lodge 858, the oldest and largest Sons of Italy lodge in Mahoning County, was founded July 24, 1918, and meetings are held the third Sunday of each month.
