Mooney, Ridge win in the rain

Cardinals pitcher Chrissy Porter threw a five-inning no-hitter.
BOARDMAN -- Freshman Chrissy Porter pitched a five-inning no-hitter and hit a three-run home Thursday in leading the Mooney High softball team to a 5-0 victory over Hubbard at the Fields of Dreams.
Porter (11-2) struck out six batters and hit the home run for the Cardinals (15-3) in the third inning.
Kelcie Herberger led off the first inning with a double, moved to third on a sacrifice bunt and scored on a single by DiAndra Dibacco.
In the fifth inning, the game was called on account of rain.

MINERAL RIDGE -- The Rams scored three runs in the first inning and three more in the second in a contest that was called in the bottom of the fifth inning because of heavy rain.
Brooke Brdek (8-7) pitched a two-hitter to pick up the win. She drove in a run with a suicide squeeze bunt single and another with a sacrifice flyout.
Melanie Sparks of the Rams hit a double and single, and drove in two runs while Jenna Smith hit a pair of singles.

BELOIT -- The Warriors (13-3, 7-3 Northeastern Buckeye Conference) were paced by Evan Campbell with a triple, single and a run batted in.
The Warriors' Steve McNeely hit two singles and drove in two runs while Jarrod Harris hit a double and drove in a run.
Tyler Newart (5-2) worked six innings, allowed three hits and struck out eight to pick up the win.
Losing pitcher Josh Graham of Carrollton (7-9, 1-7) scattered six hits and struck out 10. He hit a pair of singles.
