ASSOCIATIONS

American Association of University Women, Youngstown Branch and Boardman-Canfield Branch, will hold a spring dinner meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Georgeanna Parker Activity Center in Boardman Township Park, 375 Boardman-Canfield Road. Mahoning Valley Council of the International Reading Association will have a dinner and meeting from 6 to 8:30 p.m. May 8 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish Center, 4500 Norquest Blvd., Austintown. The keynote speaker will be Kathy East, Wood County librarian and member of the Caldecott Selection Committee. Officers will be installed, and scholarships will be awarded to two Youngstown State University students. Commitment to Literacy Awards will be given to members of the association council, and the winner of the book basket raffle will be announced. William Penn Association, Branch 28, will hold a special meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Grand Buffet, 7690 Market St., Boardman, to elect two delegates and two alternates for the September convention.

Yo-Mah-O Chapter of the International Association of Administrative Professionals will hold election of officers when members meet at 5:45 p.m. May 8 at A La Cart Catering in Canfield. Ohio Cultural Alliance will have a dinner and meeting at 6 p.m. May 7 at The Georgetown, South Avenue, Boardman. The theme will be “Enriching Elements of Life: Law,” and the speaker will be Atty. Ronald Slipski, president of Mahoning County Bar Association. Entertainment will be provided by the Struthers Community Show Choir led by Bob Noble. Youngstown Women’s Connection will hold a Delectable Springtime Luncheon at noon May 8 at the Italian American Banquet Center, 115 S. Meridian Road, Austintown. Featured will be Laurie Taylor with edible arrangements, H&Cheri Blackann offering special music, and a program on “When Life is Full of Doubts, Come Find Joy Inside and Out” by Dolores Mitson. LIBRARY FRIENDS

Friends of Poland Library will meet at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the library meeting room for coffee and a 10 a.m. business sesson. The program will be given by Allison Tocco, Poland Speech Team coach, and several members of the team. Hostesses will be Beverly Chorey, Bertha Eszenyl, Sally Foster and Louise Mulderig. District Eight Department of Ohio, Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States and the Auxiliary, will hold a testimonial dinner May 5 at Mogadore VFW 8487 Post Home, 385 Randolph Road.
