Two die of accidental poisoning in Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH (AP) — A caregiver arrived at an elderly couple’s home to find the two dead of accidental carbon monoxide poisoning.

Donald Reis Sr., 77, and his wife, Joann Reis, 75, were found dead shortly after 9 a.m. Wednesday, according to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner.

Donald Reis was found in a car in the garage. The engine wasn’t running, but apparently had been as the ignition switch was in the ’on’ position, authorities said. Joann Reis was found dead in an upstairs room.
