New marketing campaign will promote Northeast Ohio

The goal is to increase business, tourism and convention attendance.
More than 3.5 million is being invested this year in a marketing campaign for Northeast Ohio called Cleveland+.
Areas following the plus sign are listed in the campaign's logo -- Akron, Canton and Youngstown.
The campaign was to be launched today by the Greater Cleveland Marketing Alliance, a group created last year by the Greater Cleveland Partnership. The alliance said it was changing its name to Cleveland+ Marketing Alliance.
Also backing the campaign are Team NEO, a regional economic development organization and the Convention and Visitors Bureau of Greater Cleveland.
Funding
Money for the campaign comes from corporate and foundation donors and the marketing budget of the CVB. About 5 million more has been pledged to fund the campaign for the next two years.
The campaign's goal is to increase business, tourism and convention attendance in the region. The campaign will stress the region's cultural, recreational and educational assets and business opportunities.
A Web site, www.clevelandplus.com, will serve as a portal to the region for those interested in moving or expanding a business here, traveling to Northeast Ohio, holding conventions or meetings in the region, and for residents wishing to learn how they can participate in the effort.
Additional elements of the campaign will be announced in coming months.
Corporations pledging support are Cleveland Clinic; Eaton Corp.; Ernst & amp; Young; Forest City Enterprises; KeyCorp; Medical Mutual of Ohio; National City Corp.; Parker Hannifin, RPM Inc.; Sherwin Williams; Squire, Sanders & amp; Dempsey; and University Hospitals.
