New recycling bins set to be installed

MERCER, Pa. -- If all goes according to schedule, new recycling bins should be installed by today at Mercer County recycling drop-off sites.
Signs informing residents about the transition were also expected to be posted at the sites, Commissioner Kenneth Seamans said Tuesday.
The new bins are surplus bins from Lawrence County and are compatible with trucks operated by Tri-County Industries, Grove City, which recently successfully bid for the contract to take over hauling of county recyclables.
Because there are not enough bins for all of the county's recycling sites, those at Jamestown, Hadley Township, Sandy Lake and the Shenango Valley Mall will temporarily be closed.
