CANFIELD -- North Turner Road under Interstate 80 is now closed until late May for bridge construction. The detour is Silica Road to Ohltown Road. As a reminder, North Lipkey Road under I-80 will close Monday for bridge construction. Traffic will be detoured to Mahoning Avenue to state Route 45 to Silica Road.
Section of SR 305 opens,but another part to close
CHAMPION -- State Route 305 in Bazetta Township between state Route 45 and state Route 5 is now open, the Ohio Department of Transportation has announced. As a reminder, Route 305 between Lieby Osbourne Road and state Route 534 will close Monday for four days for drainage improvements. The detour will be state Route 534 to state Route 88 to state Route 45.
Girl Scout fundraiserto take place in Niles
NILES -- The Girl Scout fundraiser Uncorked III will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Ciminero's Banquet Center on Main Street. Attendees will have the opportunity to sample desserts prepared by area chefs from the Blue Wolf Tavern in Canfield and the Blue Iris in Warren. All desserts are original recipes and prepared with Girl Scout cookies as one of the ingredients. Throughout the event, two area distributors also will offer samples of fine wines. The evening is rounded out with hors d'oeuvres and an extensive silent auction. Tickets are 45 per person and include an entry for a door prize. Lane closed on SR 45
WELLSVILLE -- The Ohio Department of Transportation has announced that because of a landslide, state Route 45 will be reduced to one lane later today less than a mile from state Route 7, just outside of Wellsville. One lane of traffic will be maintained with temporary traffic signals. ODOT District 11 Deputy Director Dick Bible said it wasn't clear what caused the landslide. "Until we can perform the proper subsurface investigations, we will not know what type of repairs will be required or how long they may take to complete. We hope to begin this exploratory work immediately," Bible said.
Student art show set
CORTLAND -- Trumbull County Educational Service Center will have its annual Student Art Show from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Forum Health's Elm Road Medical Park here. The event will showcase more than 120 works of art from county high school students. Many of the works, which include photography, sculpture, ceramics, prints, drawings and painting, will be sold at a silent auction. Pupils also will read poetry and perform music throughout the event.

BOARDMAN -- Recycle your electronics at the Boardman Electronics Recycling Drive on Saturday. Boardman trustees, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and the Mahoning County Green Team will be accepting unwanted computers, monitors, printers, keyboards, DVD and VCR units and other electronics from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. All items should be delivered to the township government center, 8299 Market St. Items are limited to 10 per vehicle.
