Stewardship Week will begin Sunday

CORTLAND -- The Trumbull Soil & amp; Water Conservation District will join other soil and water conservation districts across the United States in observing Stewardship Week beginning Sunday through May 6.
Trumbull SWCD will have an essay contest and poster contest, among other activities.
Stewardship Week is one of the world's largest conservation-related observances and has been sponsored since 1955 by the National Association of Conservation Districts, said Amy Reeher, Trumbull SWCD watershed coordinator.
The activities are designed to educate youths and provide training forums and seminars for landowners on land conservation.
This year's theme is "Today is the Day to be a Part of Conservation's Power."
