Man indicted in death of brother

WARREN — A 46-year-old city man is indicted on a charge of voluntary manslaughter in the stabbing death of his brother.

Warren police charged Charles H. Smith Jr. of 1503 South Leavitt Road with the offense last week after he fought with his brother, Carl Smith, 28, of 806 Kinsman St. N.W., and his brother died.

David Toepfer, assistant Trumbull County prosecutor, said Smith Jr. could be sentenced to three to 10 years in prison or probation if convicted on the charge.
