Landslide closes part of Route 45 near Wellsville

WELLSVILLE — The Ohio Department of Transportation has announced that because of a landslide, state Route 45 will be reduced to one lane later today less than a mile from state Route 7, just outside of Wellsville.

One lane of traffic will be maintained with temporary traffic signals.

ODOT District 11 Deputy Director Dick Bible it wasn’t clear what caused the landslide.

“Until we can perform the proper subsurface investigations, we will not know what type of repairs will be required or how long they may take to complete. We hope to begin this exploratory work immediately,” Bible said.
