High winds cause damage in Mercer County

TRANSFER, Pa. — High winds damaged buildings and roofs, broke windows and uprooted trees in an area south of Greenville, Mercer County 911 dispatch center reported.

A dispatcher said the center began receiving calls after the wicked weather began around 7:25 p.m. this evening. He said numerous police and fire agencies plus the Mercer County Emergency Management Agency responded. No one was injured. It wasn’t known late tonight whether a tornado had touched down, the dispatcher said.
