Fire destroys Weathersfield mobile home

WEATHERSFIELD — Fire officials are investigating a Saturday night fire that destroyed a township man’s mobile home.

By the time Weathersfield firefighters responded to the blaze at the Suburban Mobile Home Park on Ninth Street around 9 p.m., the trailer was fully engulfed in flames, Fire Chief Randy Pugh said. The cause and a financial estimate for the damage are still undetermined, Pugh said.

The man who owned the trailer, whose name was not released by authorities, was treated and released from Forum Health Trumbull Memorial Hospital for smoke inhalation. The man was at a neighbor’s home when the fire began, but when he tried to enter the trailer to retrieve his belongings he inhaled smoke, Pugh said.
