The Youngstown City School District makes its second personnel cut in as many years and 321 employees are told that their contracts will not be renewed for the coming school year. Included are 128 teachers. The previous year, 181 teachers were told their contracts would not be renewed, but eventually all but 28 were rehired.
April 22, 1967: The Youngstown Board of Education will pay for policies providing 180 days of hospitalization, surgical and major medical coverage for its employees if the 7.5-mill levy on the May 2 primary ballot is approved.

April 22, 1957: Some Youngstown area old timers in aviation relive the old days when the first plane to fly airmail in Youngstown 30 years ago flies the route again. Present is Merle Moltrup, pioneer Beaver Falls pilot, who flew the first flight, and E.E. Hall of Warren, believed to be the pilot who has flown actively longer than any other man.
Some 200 Indian steel executives will visit Youngstown over the summer as part of a national tour to observe and learn American methods of steel production. The party is expected to visit Youngstown Sheet & amp; Tube Co., U.S. Steel Corp. and Republic Steel Corp. plants here.
