Two Ohio Edison Co. employees are killed in separate accidents in Trumbull County. Alex E. Markley dies after his truck was struck by a train in Gustavus Township, and lineman Isaac McDonnell, 46, was electrocuted while working at the Trumbull County Fairgrounds.

The interchange being built in Austintown where routes I-680, I-80 and state Route 11 meet will contain 13 bridges and will be the second largest interchange in the country.
September 10, 1956: A car that crashed a stop sign at Palmyra and Hewitt-Gifford roads in Warren strikes a car carrying Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Michaels and their two children, killing the couple and injuring the children. Police say the car that went through the stop sign had its headlights off.
A record low for the date of 37 degrees and light frost hit the Youngstown area.

September 10, 1931: Mahoning County Common Pleas Judge David G. Jenkins admits having received a vacation trip and medical treatment at the expense of Pennsylvania-Ohio Power and Light, but protests his good faith in accepting the help. Jenkins faces disbarment.
