Ohio soldier killed in combat in Iraq
WILLIAMSFIELD, Ohio (AP) -- An Ohio soldier was killed during combat operations in Iraq, the U.S. Department of Defense said Saturday.
Sgt. David W. Gordon, 23, of Williamsfield, died Friday in Baghdad after an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle. No other details were released.
He was assigned to the Army's 3rd Battalion, 16th Field Artillery Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division at Fort Hood, Texas.
Williamsfield is about 60 miles east of Cleveland, near the Pennsylvania line.
