Men's Garden Club sponsors two-day horticultural show



YOUNGSTOWN -- The Davis Educational and Visitors Center in Fellows Riverside Gardens at Mill Creek Park was the setting for a two-day horticultural show that was held Aug. 26 and 27 by the Men's Garden Club of Youngstown.
More than 33 adult entries and 36 youth entries were submitted for judging at the show.
In the adult division, Hugh Earnhart was the first-place winner with 37 points, Rodney Toth was second with 32 points, and Don Brown was third with 28 points.
Rodney Toth also captured the Best of Show award in the adult class with his "Glads-Lady Lucile."
The youth division winner was Rebecca Hartz with 16 points, Robert Voland was second with 15 points, and Collin Dotson was third with 10 points.
Voland took the youth Best of Show award with his sweet peppers "Artistotle."
A 2-pound, 7 1/2-ounce tomato submitted by Brown was the big tomato winner.
