Late-summer garden party honors Simpsons on their 50th anniversary

XSTRUTHERS -- The gardens at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Simpson on Hopewell Drive was the setting for a party held on Sept. 2 in celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary.
Invitations for the festivity were issued by the couple's sons, Jeff Simpson of Chicago and Mark Simpson of Struthers, and by Gina Mascio of Struthers and the Simpsons' three grandchildren.
On Sept. 2, 1956, the former Joanne D. Ambrosia and Mr. Simpson exchanged nuptial vows during a ceremony that took place at Sacred Heart Church in Youngstown.
Prior to retiring in 1993, Mrs. Simpson was an IRA specialist with Bank One in Youngstown. She is a member of Friends of Fellows Riverside Gardens.
Mr. Simpson served with the U.S. Army in Korea. He was self-employed prior to retiring in 1997. He is a member of several golf leagues.
