The event will feature young people fighting cancer and those who care for and support them.
LIBERTY -- The Jessica Moorhead Foundation for Hope will sponsor its third annual benefit fashion show and luncheon to be held at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 22 at the Holiday Inn MetroPlex.
"Shining Through" is the theme chosen for the event, which will serve as a tribute to the beauty and radiance of young people fighting cancer and the dedication of those who care for and support them.
Current and former patients in treatment at the Children's Care Center for Blood and Cancer at Tod Children's Hospital along with their family members and Tod physicians and nurses will be modeling the fall, winter and holiday fashions and hairstyles. They will be joined by Angee Shaker of WYTV, Autumn Ziemba of WFMJ, and A.C. McCullough and Kelly Stevens of HOT 101.
Serving as emcee for the event will be Sarah Eisler of WKBN.
Admission to the benefit event is $35 and includes a luncheon at 1 p.m., exhibits and an opportunity to win a door prize.
The nonprofit Jessica Moorhead Foundation of Hope was founded in memory of 16-year-old Jessica Moorhead of Austintown, who never lost hope during her four-year battle with leukemia. The foundation focuses on the needs of patients in the Pediatric and Adolescent Cancer Program at Tod Children's Hospital.
