"Where Did It Come From?" (8 p.m., The History Channel): The concept of the luxury high-rise apartment wasn't born in a modern metropolis, but instead in the minds of Roman architects more than 2,000 years ago. Long before the United States and the Soviet Union were locked in an arms race, the ancient Greeks were developing weapons of mass destruction to overcome their enemies' growing defenses. From sports arenas to medicine and mining, the ancient roots of modern technology are tracked down in "Where Did It Come From?" This new series, with host Michael Guillen, premieres tonight. First up: Modern ship building, courtesy of ancient Greeks who floated the idea for supertankers and cargo ships, as well as building lighthouses and going deep-sea diving.
"'Til Death" (8 p.m., Fox): It didn't take long for Brad Garrett to find work in another sitcom. The former "Everybody Loves Raymond" star returns to prime time in "'Til Death," a show about a long-married couple (Garrett and Joely Fisher) that sees how the other half lives when frisky newlyweds (Kat Foster and Eddie Kaye Thomas) move in next door. The thin premise yields a few good laughs.
"Happy Hour" (8:30 p.m., Fox): You may have to throw down a few martinis to make it through "Happy Hour," a hideous sitcom about ... well, we really couldn't tell from the pilot. Seems there's a young guy recovering from a breakup with his girlfriend and he moves in with another guy who likes to bust out the booze at 4 p.m. every day. Yeah, it's about as funny as it sounds.
