Warner looks at cityas location for film
YOUNGSTOWN -- Warner Bros. is looking for a location for major motion picture, and has expressed an interest in Youngstown. The studio is looking for an empty downtown location to shoot the film, and has contacted the Western Reserve Film Commission.
The WRFC responded by providing pictures of Federal Street in downtown Youngstown, according to a news release from the commission. The unnamed film would have a budget of between $50 and $100 million, and $20 million would be spent in the city in which it is filmed, according to the WRFC.
Sunset at the Farmoffers family fun
CANFIELD --Mill Creek MetroParks' fall festival, Sunset at the Farm, will be held from 5-8 p.m. Sept. 16 at the MetroParks Farm. Visitors will be treated to hayrides on wagons pulled by draft horses, campfire entertainment with Jon Mosey, and freshly made apple butter.
Kids will enjoy a visit with farm animals, a marshmallow roast, a search for "needles" (toys) in a haystack, and a trip through a cornfield maze. The festivities include a sack race and an egg toss. The fun and educational AdVenture Barn will be open, and the Western Reserve Modular Railroad Club. will stage a giant train display. Families are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on at the campfire. Admission is free. The MetroParks Farm is on Route 46 across from the Canfield Fairgrounds. PBS special focuses onCanadian music group
KENT -- PBS-TV 45/49 is celebrating the upcoming appearance of the Canadian group Leahy by airing a special concert, "Leahy," at 9 p.m. Sept. 16. The pledge-event show enables viewers to secure best-in-house tickets for the group's March 2007 concert in Cleveland before tickets go on sale to the general public. Influenced by pop, country, classical and Canadian music, the Leahy sound is defined by exceptional musicianship and passionate performance.
Recorded in Gatineau, Quebec, the special showcases the group's diverse repertoire including fiddling, ragtime-style piano and Canadian step-dancing.
Leahy will perform as part of the Cleveland Museum of Art's VIVA! and Gala Around Town series on March 23 at 7:30 p.m. at John Hay High School in Cleveland.
