LISBON -- An East Liverpool man has entered a plea of innocent to a murder charge in the death of a woman who was stabbed.
Andrew G. Irwin, 25, of Oak Street, appeared for arraignment Wednesday before Judge C. Ashley Pike of Columbiana County Common Pleas Court.
Judge Pike appointed attorneys Joseph King and Jennifer Gorby to represent Irwin. The judge set Irwin's bond at $500,000 and set a trial date for 9 a.m. Nov. 14.
A county grand jury indicted Irwin last week. He is accused of killing Emily Foreman, 21, about 4 p.m. Aug. 16 while she was staying at a home her mother owns at 916 Anderson Ave. in Liverpool Township.
Foreman died after being taken to East Liverpool City Hospital. She had a young daughter who was not at the house at the time of her death.
Authorities have said that Irwin and Foreman were acquaintances who got into an argument, but authorities have not described the reason for the fight. Authorities said a small amount of suspected drugs was found in the home.
The county coroner's office has not made an official ruling on the cause of death.
