Man accused of using cutter on woman



SHARON, Pa. -- Larry Lowe Sr., 54, of Liberty Street is in Mercer County jail on $250,000 bond accused of cutting a woman's throat with a box cutter.
Sharon police arrested Lowe at 8 a.m. Monday as he was walking at Budd Street and the Shenango Valley Freeway. He is charged with criminal attempt at homicide and aggravated assault.
Police said a neighbor on Liberty Street called officers at 7:45 a.m. to report that Gloria Miller, 44, of 327 Liberty St., had been stabbed. Police said she was bleeding profusely from the throat when they arrived. Miller was taken to Sharon Regional Health System's hospital, where she was in reported in stable condition late Wednesday, police said.
Police said she was able to identify Lowe as her attacker and give a description of his clothing. Police said the two were arguing when Miller was cut.
Lowe was arraigned Monday. His preliminary hearing will be Sept. 14 before District Justice James McMahon.
