Lee and Chick click to aid in Hubbard win



HUBBARD -- R.J. Lee's goal on Alex Chick's assist with less than 20 minutes remaining snapped a 1-1 tie and gave Hubbard a 2-1 win over Champion in a Trumbull Athletic Conference boys soccer game Wednesday.
Gustavo Meneczes scored the other goal for Hubbard (2-1, 2-0 TAC) also on Chick's assist.
Trent Williams scored for Champion (1-3, 1-1) on David Palm's assist.
JVs: Champion 4-0.
Howland 7, Niles 0
NILES -- Eric Albani had two goals and an assist for Howland in a Metro Athletic Conference game Tuesday.
Also for the Tigers (3-1, 2-0 MAC), Ryan Gerin had two assists and a goal, while Sumit Kovoor and Zack Byler had one goal and one assist apiece. Sean Gerin and Ian Jones also had goals for Howland, while Chris Cole and Tyler Rubesich had assists.
Niles is 2-2-1, 1-1.

POLAND -- Senior forward Kaylin Hovance had two goals, while senior midfielder Chelsea Palma had the other score for Howland (4-0-1, 3-0 MAC) in a 3-0 win over Poland. Melissa Kohn, a senior, had two assists, while junior Olivia Wilson and Hovance shared credit for the assist on Palma's goal.
Junior goalie Meagan McLaughlin have five saves for the shutout, while Poland goalie Sam Stanich had six saves for the Bulldogs (3-1, 2-1).

SALEM -- Noelle Fox scored two goals to pace the Cardinals (2-0-1, 2-0-1 MAC). Shea Price got the other goal. Kaley Donvan had an assist. Anokha Padubidri had seven saves.
Sarah Conrad had 12 saves for the Quakers.

STRUTHERS -- Katie Griswold scored four goals to pace the Cardinals (3-1, 1-0 Steel Valley Conference). Mimi Vitullo, Ashley Cuba and Mara Luongo added one apiece. Alex Cierra, Vickie Dreiling, Griswold and Luongo had an assist apiece. Veronica Skowron had seven saves.
Hannah Snyder scored the goal for the Irish. Jolanta Carkido had 12 saves.
Springfield 4, Girard 1
NEW MIDDLETOWN -- Forward Allyson Berry had two goals while junior midfielder Melissa Huffman and junior forward Mara Boyce had single goals for Springfield (3-1).
Berry, a sophomore, also had an assist on Boyce's goal.
Ali Lessick had the lone goal for Girard (1-5).
Girard goalie Ashley Esposito had 14 saves; Springfield goalie Heather Cozak, a sophomore, had five stops.

KINSMAN -- Tori Spencer scored two goals to spark the Rockets (4-2, 2-0 Northeastern Athletic Conference). Emily Paris, Kayleigh Hartman and Katya Domes added one apiece.
Domes also had two assists, Chelsey Wolfe, Sierra Roberts and Spencer each had one. Bonnee Clute, keeper, had 10 saves.
Taylor Phillips, Amelia Daraway and Chawna McNeely each scored a goal for the Braves (3-1, 1-1). McNeely, Jenna Miller and Sarah Dunfee had an assist apiece. Katy Dvorak, keeper, had 17 saves.

MASSILLON -- Jessica Winters, Jenn Libby, Chloe Zidian, Courtney Gratz and Nathalie Dechellis each scored a goal for the Spartans 3-1-1, 1-1 Federal League). Zidian, Winters, Candace Golubic and Lea Byers had an assist apiece. Lani Vlad, keeper, had three saves.

CANTON -- Dana Liceto scored two goals for the Falcons (2-2, 2-0 FL). Katie Burns and Ciara Sanders added a goal apiece. Stephane Kollar had an assist for the Falcons. Cara Calei had two saves.
Canton McKinley fell to 0-3, 0-2.
West Branch 6, United 0
HANOVERTON -- Lisa Bell scored two goals, while Tina Herold, Karen Steiger, Alex Long and Tayler Kring each had one for the Warriors. Courtney Salvino, Madison Wallace, Herold and Kring each had an assist for West Branch.
