Goalie Moore delivers Spartans' 3-0 win



Brett Balog, D.J. Herman and Phil Curl each scored a goal to lead Boardman.
BOARDMAN -- Goalie Matt Moore pitched a shutout while Brett Balog, D.J. Herman and Phil Curl each scored a goal, to lead Boardman High to a 3-0 victory over Massillon Perry in a Federal League boys soccer game on Tuesday.
T.J. Hosa and Anthony Grenga each had an assist for the Spartans (4-1, 1-1).
JVs: Boardman, 3-1.

AUSTINTOWN -- Brad Hrinko scored four goals for the Falcons (3-0, 2-0), while Andy Kollar, Aaron Clay and Evan Leskovec each added a goal. Matt Savko and Hrinko each had two assists. Joe Sebaugh had five saves and an assist.
Gabe Hofacre led the Bulldogs (2-2-1, 0-2) with two goals. Julian Tessou scored the other goal.
Mooney 4, Akron SVSM 2
AKRON -- Scott Blasko had two goals, while Dom DiPasquale had a goal and two assists for Mooney (3-1). James Simon also scored for the Cardinals, while Sean Sullivan had an assist. JVs: Mooney, 3-0.
Newton Falls 5, LaBrae 2
NEWTON FALLS -- Junior Mike Layshock had career-high three goals and added an assist for Newton Falls (3-1-1-, 2-0) in a Trumbull Athletic Conference game.
Josh Banyas added a goal and two assists, Payson Cowie scored a goal and Eric Terwilliger had two assists. Kurt Ellis had 10 saves.
For LaBrae, Mike Pratt scored twice and Stephen Hill had an assist. Andrew Ozanich had 11 saves.

NEW WATERFORD -- Greg Bing scored two goals to spark the Rebels (5-1). Austin Elwonger scored the other goal and he had an assist. Aaron Stewart and Matt Twaddle had an assist apiece.
