CLUBS
XChristian Women's Club South will hold a "Country Fair" luncheon from noon to 2 p.m. Sept. 14 at Avion on the Water, 2177 W. Western Reserve Road, Canfield. There will be a country fair auction with Marty Campana and a talk on "The Secret To Lasting Wealth" by Rita Stewart. The cost is $10. GUILDS
XNiles Chapter of the American Sewing Guild will hold installation of officers and will celebrate its 15th anniversary Oct. 21 at Central Christian Church in Warren by sponsoring a seminar, trunk show and luncheon featuring sewing educator Cindy Casciato. A session on "Color First" will be from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and a session on "One Stitch" will be from noon to 3 p.m. The charge for each session is $20 for members and $30 for nonmembers and includes the lunch. The fee for all day is $40 for members and $50 for nonmembers. The reservation deadline is Oct. 2. For more information contact (330) 847-8757.
RELIGIOUS GROUPS
XHoly Name of Jesus Ladies Guild will meet at noon Tuesday in Founder's Hall. There will be a sack lunch, and a raffle will be held. Hostesses will be Ann Semko and Helen Wasko.
SINGLES
XOriginal Christian Singles will meet at 6 p.m. Sept. 11 at the Fellowship Church in Boardman. Members are to note the meeting date was changed due to Labor Day. The guest will be Phil Cessan, gospel singer. A watermelon party will be featured. Members are asked to take a salad, dessert and a sandwich bag for a surprise. The organization is open to all singles over 35.
SUPPORT GROUPS
XAlert, Well, and Keeping Energetic (A.W.A.K.E.) support group for those with sleep apnea will meet at 7 p.m. Sept. 14 at St. Joe's at the Sears concourse in Eastwood Mall. The topic will be "Nasal CPAP Therapy: Its History and How it Works." For additional information call St. Joseph Sleep Lab, (330) 841-4406.
VETERANS
XVFW Post 3332 and its auxiliary will have the annual Past Commanders and Past Presidents Banquet at 6 p.m. Sept. 16 at the post home, 433 Arlington Road, Newton Falls. This year the VFW will celebrate 60 years of service to the veterans and the community. A social hour begins at 6 p.m. with dinner at 7. Dinner is free to past commanders and auxiliary presidents, and $10 for members and guest.
