3 priests get new positions



Two other priests have been granted leaves of absence.
YOUNGSTOWN -- Three priests in the Diocese of Youngstown have received new assignments from Msgr. Robert J. Siffrin, Diocesan Administrator.
The Rev. Bernard Bonnot is appointed administrator of Mother of Sorrows Parish in Ashtabula, effective Sept. 8.
The Rev. Robert Hannon is appointed administrator of Little Flower Parish in Middlebranch, effective Aug. 1.
The Rev. David Misbrener is appointed administrator at St. Peter of the Fields Parish in Rootstown, effective Sept. 15.
Father Bonnot was ordained Dec. 21, 1967, after completing seminary studies at North American College in Rome. He served as assistant pastor at Immaculate Conception Parish in Youngstown, assistant superintendent of diocesan secondary schools and pastor at St. Stephen of Hungary Parish in Youngstown. He was director of planning, then later communications director for the diocese.
Father Bonnot served as CEO of the Catholic Telecommunications Network of America before being named director of community relations for Vision Interfaith Satellite Network in New York City. Most recently he served as senior vice president of the Hallmark Channel in California. Father Bonnot previously served on the diocesan Priests' Council.
Retired, then returned
Father Hannon was ordained June 23, 1979, after completing seminary studies at Mount St. Mary Seminary in Cincinnati. He served as associate pastor at St. Mary Parish in Warren, St. Edward Parish in Youngstown, St. Michael Parish in Canton, and St. Stephen Parish in Niles, where he later became pastor.
He also served as pastor at St. Bernadette Parish in Masury, Sts. Philip & amp; James Parish in Canal Fulton and St. Patrick Parish in Kent from where he retired July 1. He returned to active ministry to accept the administration of Little Flower Parish. Father Hannon also served as a member of the Priests' Council.
Father Misbrener, ordained May 7, 1995, for the Byzantine Archdiocese of Pittsburgh, was placed into the Diocese of Youngstown on Oct. 26, 1999. He served as associate pastor of Immaculate Conception Parish in Ravenna and St. Nicholas Parish in Struthers.
He has served as pastor of Our Lady of Victory Parish in Andover and St. Patrick Parish in Kinsman since 2003.
Additionally, Rev. Robert Miller and Rev. Kevin Peters have requested and received leaves of absence, effective Aug. 15 and Aug. 1, respectively. Father Peters had been pastor of Mother of Sorrows Parish in Ashtabula since July 2000. Father Miller has been providing sacramental assistance for Little Flower Parish and St. Peter of the Fields Parish in Rootstown since July 2005.
