NFL ROUNDUP Thursday's other games

Dolphins 29, Rams 9
MIAMI -- Marcus Vick found a seam between two St. Louis defenders, stumbled backward yet still caught Cleo Lemon's pass for his first touchdown of the preseason. Sometime in the next two days, Vick will find out if that effort helped him win a job. Lemon, Miami's No. 3 quarterback, completed 21 of 28 passes for 271 yards and Olindo Mare made all five of his field-goal tries for the Dolphins.
Jaguars 20, Falcons 17
ATLANTA -- Jacksonville's Charles Sharon caught a pair of touchdown passes in a game that meant little beyond settling a few fringe spots on each roster. Neither team used any starters beyond its kickers. Jacksonville coach Jack Del Rio was clearly spooked by last week's preseason game against Tampa Bay. Fullback Greg Jones tore up a knee and was lost for the season, while leading tackler Mike Peterson hobbled off with a knee injury that might keep him out of the Sept. 10 season opener against Dallas.
Bills 20, Lions 13
DETROIT -- J.P. Losman and Willis McGahee made their one series together look pretty good. Losman completed all five passes and McGahee scored on a 1-yard run for the Bills. Losman threw for 52 yards and McGahee ran for 29 yards on the opening 13-play, 85-yard scoring drive. Losman, who won the starting job earlier this week, also played in Buffalo's second series, but didn't attempt a pass. Detroit and Buffalo each ended the preseason with 1-3 records. Josh McCown played the first half in Jon Kitna's place and improved his chances of earning the backup job, completing 11 of 14 passes for 96 yards. His 7-yard TD toss to Eddie Drummond tied the game at 7 five minutes into the second quarter.
Giants 31, Patriots 23
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- The Giants gave coach Tom Coughlin a perfect 60th birthday present, putting the finishing touches on an undefeated preseason. Backup halfback Brandon Jacobs rushed for 130 yards and scored on runs of 57 and 2 yards as the Giants (4-0) defeated the Tom Brady-less Patriots.
