Man in critical condition after shooting

YOUNGSTOWN -- A shooting on the city's South Side left a man in critical condition in St. Elizabeth Health Center, a hospital clinical manager said.
Police said Tremain Ivy, 27, of Sherwood Avenue, was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center after he drove to the Shell station at 504 E. Midlothian.
When police arrived at 4:08 p.m., they found Ivy standing inside the Shell store with a gunshot wound on his left side. Police said he asked for a cell phone to call friends to retaliate.
About the same time, police said they received numerous calls about gunfire in the areas of East Avondale Avenue, Erie Street, Rush Boulevard and Lucius Avenue.
Ivy said he was shot by a cousin but would not give police names or other information. Police said Ivy still refused to offer any details when questioned later at the hospital.
