Head-on crash kills Ellwood City woman



ELLWOOD CITY, Pa. -- One woman was killed and two other people were seriously injured in a head-on crash.
Pennsylvania State Police said Marietta Santavicca, of Short Street, died at Allegheny General Hospital. Police said her 2000 Oldsmobile was hit head on by a 1999 Dodge that came into her lane from the opposite direction at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday.
Police said the Dodge driver, Russell Barr, of Wampum, Pa., was westbound and Santavicca was eastbound. Barr had minor injuries, but two passengers, Tyler McCaslin and Paul Zurrica, both of Ellwood City, were seriously hurt and taken to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. Their conditions were not available Thursday afternoon.
Another passenger in Barr's car, John Latour, of Ellwood City, had minor injuries.
Ages of those involved were not released. Police said they are still investigating the cause of the crash.
