Academy graduates its 1st class

Young people and city police celebrate the first graduation of the Youngstown Police Department's Youth Police Academy. Delphine Baldwin-Casey, who organized the academy, hugs one of her graduates, Janessa Lewis, 15, of Youngstown. Twenty-eight youths graduated Thursday during ceremonies at the Youngstown Police Department Community Education Center, 1639 Mahoning Ave. The academy was created to form a bond between the city's youths and police.
