YOUNGSTOWN - The 10th Penguin Club Jamboree will be held at The Georgetown Oct. 26.
This year's event features an auction, a reverse raffle and side-board drawings.
The evening begins at 6:30 p.m. with a buffet. Tickets are 100 for the dinner and drawing and 50 for extra dinner tickets.

Goaltender signed
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Youngstown signed goaltender Brad Roberts and released goaltender Brian Gratz Thursday.
Roberts, 24, played four years at the U.S. Military Academy. He dressed in 108 games posting 12 wins and five shutouts, a save percentage of .909 and a goals against average of 2.53.
The SteelHounds open the regular season tonight in Memphis.

YOUNGSTOWN -- Entries for the Tilly Tater Memorial women's scratch division tournament are available at area bowling centers until Oct. 28.
The event is Nov. 4 at Camelot Lanes and Nov. 5 at Bell-Wick Bowl.
Division I is for women with an average of 190 and over and Division II is for averages 189 and below.
A 40 entry fee, which should be postmarked no later than Oct. 28, is payable to the Youngstown USBC WBA.

CLEVELAND -- The Grand Prix of Cleveland is introducing "Grand Prix of Cleveland Pit Parties," a series of monthly social outings at Cleveland-area venues.
Fans can purchase a "Pit Pass" for 10.

Stadium threat a hoax
MILWAUKEE -- Internet threats of "dirty bomb" attacks at Cleveland Browns Stadium and other NFL stadiums this weekend were a hoax inspired by a writing competition between two men trying to come up with scary threats, a law enforcement official said Thursday.
The threats, which were posted on a Web site last week and mentioned stadiums in seven U.S. cities, were deemed to be false by the FBI Thursday after agents questioned a 20-year-old Milwaukee man.
Berard has second surgery on back
COLUMBUS -- Blue Jackets defenseman Bryan Berard, who has missed all season and much of last year with a back injury, had a second surgery Thursday.
Berard, 29, could be back before the end of the season, spokesman Todd Sharrock said.
The surgery in Los Angeles was to repair a herniated disc and was similar to the surgery he had in March on another disc.
Berard signed a two-year, 4.5 million contract before last season. He had played in 44 of 86 regular season games with Columbus.
Bengals' Chris Perry hoping to play Sunday
CINCINNATI -- Bengals running back Chris Perry, who excels on passing downs rejoined the team in practice this week, having recovered from the knee and ankle operations that wiped out his preseason and sidelined him for the first five games.
He's hoping to play Sunday against Carolina (4-2), adding a playmaker to an offense riddled with injuries. Three of Carson Palmer's receivers are sidelined by injury or suspension this week.

Rose missed a 14-foot birdie putt on No. 18, leaving him a stroke away from matching the PGA Tour record shared by Al Geiberger (1977), Chip Beck (1991) and David Duval (1999). The 26-year-old Englishman settled for a 12-under 60, course and tournament records, and a four-stroke lead Thursday in the Funai Classic at Disney.
