LSU cruises to 91-57 win against McNeese State

Oregon knocked off No. 18 ranked Georgetown 57-50.

BATON ROUGE, La. -- Garrett Temple had 17 points and Tasmin Mitchell scored 14 of his 16 in the second half, leading LSU over McNeese State 91-57 in a men's basketball game on Wednesday.
Temple shot 7-of-12 from the field and hit three 3-pointers for the Tigers (3-1). Glen Davis made only three field goals but hit nine free throws to finish with 15 points. Reserve guard Ben Voogd scored a career-high 12 points, and Darnell Lazare added 11.
Aldryan Wardell paced McNeese State (2-5) with a season-high 16 points. John Ford, who made three 3-pointers in the first half, had 13.
No. 14 Memphis 86, Arkansas State 60
MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Antonio Anderson scored 17 points and had five assists to lead Memphis past Arkansas State.
Jeremy Hunt added 15 points for the Tigers (4-1), while Robert Dozier scored 13 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Joey Dorsey finished with 10 points.
No. 17 Wichita St. 85, UMKC 55
WICHITA, Kan. -- P.J. Couisnard scored 16 points and Wichita State made its first 11 shots in the second half to beat Missouri-Kansas City.
Phillip Thomasson added 12 points and 10 rebounds in his first start for the Shockers (5-0), who played their first home game as a ranked team since 1983. Thomasson, a junior, sat out last season after transferring from Colorado State.
Oregon 57, No. 18 Georgetown 50
WASHINGTON -- Aaron Brooks scored 15 points and Oregon made up for poor shooting with hustle and rebounding to upset Georgetown.
Oregon (6-0) was better than Georgetown (4-2) in nearly every facet of the game, but couldn't hit its shots until midway through the second half. The Ducks never had anything close to a comfortable lead until a 10-3 run gave them a 53-44 cushion with 1:36 to play.
No. 19 Butler 60, Valparaiso 47
VALPARAISO, Ind. -- Mike Green scored 16 points and A.J. Graves added 13 to help Butler, playing with its highest ranking in 57 years, beat Valparaiso.
Green scored nine straight points, highlighted by a 3-pointer that bounced high off the back rim and then in, during a decisive 14-1 run late in the first half that stretched Butler's lead from 16-14 to 30-15. Valparaiso (3-3) never got closer than 11 after that.
No. 20 Connecticut 89,Sacred Heart 46
STORRS, Conn. -- Doug Wiggins and Craig Austrie each scored 12 points to help Connecticut rout Sacred Heart, extending the Huskies' home winning streak to 25 games.
Five minutes into the game, the teams were tied 7-7. UConn (6-0) then went on a 12-0 run and never looked back.
The Huskies extended their lead to 45-19 at halftime.
No. 24 Nevada 86, Louisiana-Lafayette 74
LAFAYETTE, La. -- Nick Fazekas scored 21 points, Marcelus Kemp added 19 and Nevada broke open a close game midway through the second half against Louisiana-Lafayette.
Kemp had two baskets in a 50-second stretch to begin a 16-2 run for the Wolf Pack (6-0).
Fazekas' three-point play with 8:08 left gave Nevada a 69-56 lead. Fazekas shot 8-of-12 from the floor.
Purdue 61, No. 25 Virginia 59
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Tarrance Crump drove to the basket and hit a floater with 1 second remaining, giving Purdue a victory over Virginia in the ACC-Big Ten Challenge.
The Boilermakers (5-1) blew a nine-point lead midway through the second half and fell behind by five before consecutive 3-pointers by Marcus Green, Chris Lutz and David Teague.
The Cavaliers (4-1) tied the game for the final time at 59 on two free throws by Sean Singletary with 29 seconds left.
