A summary of recent criminal activity in Girard and Liberty:
GIRARD
Nov. 26
Breaking and entering: Officers found a door window had been broken at Showcase Outlet, 600 N. State St. A $1,700, 42-inch plasma TV was missing.
Nov. 27
Theft: A dealer license plate was stolen off a vehicle at Lump Auto Sales, 1429 S. State St.
Theft: A woman in the 100 block of East Prospect Street reported the theft of her son's $120 bicycle.
Menacing: An Illinois Avenue woman told police her former boyfriend called several times threatening to harm her and her children.
Nov. 29
Criminal damaging: A Stambaugh Street man reported that subcontractors remodeling his home drove a vehicle and walked across a side lawn, causing damage and loosening stones.
LIBERTY
Nov. 22
Bad check: An employee for a Niles company reported that a Youngstown woman presented a check to pay for work done on an Arabian Drive residence, but that the check was invalid.
Identity theft: A Hadley Road woman told police she received letters from collection agencies regarding $1,561 worth of credit on an account she never opened.
Theft: A Belmont Avenue woman found unauthorized charges from Giant Eagle, 4700 Belmont Ave., on her food assistance card.
Forgery: Police made three arrests after responding to Home Savings and Loan, 3500 Belmont Ave., in reference to someone trying to pass stolen checks. Two men, 19 and 20, and an 18-year-old woman, all of Youngstown, faced four felony counts each of forgery and complicity to forgery after authorities said they found several fraudulent refund checks. Additional felony charges against the men were four counts each of theft and complicity to theft; the woman faced one count each of the same crimes.
Nov. 24
Theft: A Girard man, 42, wanted on a warrant from Liberty charging him with theft was picked up.
Assault: A McDonald man alleged a 72-year-old Niles man pulled him through the front door to the victim's girlfriend's Oriel-Rogers Road residence, causing the man to lose his balance, and that he also was punched in the face. The victim complained of pain in his jaw and ribs.
Auto theft: A 1999 Chevy G-3500 was stolen from Motor City USA, 4506 Belmont Ave.
Nov. 25
Assault: A Frederick Street woman had redness near her right eye after a Liberty man, 43, punched her. The man told police he was defending himself.
Breaking and entering: Someone entered Inner Circle Pizza, 3570 Belmont Ave., apparently with a key, before taking a lock box containing an undisclosed amount of money.
Theft: A Harding Avenue man reported a check missing from his checkbook.
Nov. 26
Arrest: After conducting a vehicle registration check, police arrested a 37-year-old Youngstown man near Belmont Avenue and Tod Lane after learning he was wanted on a warrant. The original charge was aggravated menacing.
Assault: A Girard woman had scratches on her right arm after she and a 19-year-old Youngstown woman got into an altercation in the Denny's Restaurant parking lot, 4020 Belmont Ave.
Nov. 27
Criminal damaging: A man in the 1300 block of Tibbets-Wick Road accused his former girlfriend of damaging his vehicle's passenger-side mirror and door.
Theft: Officers picked up a 31-year-old Youngstown man at a BP gas station, 2703 Belmont Ave., on a felony warrant from Liberty charging him with theft. A Youngstown woman, 35, also was taken into custody on a traffic warrant.
Recovered property: A Fifth Avenue woman found in her yard two checkbooks belonging to a Mount Airy, N.C., woman.
Assault: A Girard man, 79, surrendered to police. He was wanted by Liberty authorities on two felony warrants charging him with assault.
Stolen property: A Youngstown man, 20, was arrested at a BP station. He was wanted on a charge of failing to appear in court to answer a felony charge of receiving stolen property.
