RUSTON, La. -- Dominique Redding scored 13 points and Alberta Auguste added 11 to help Tennessee beat Louisiana Tech. Tennessee (6-0) dominated from the start, getting a double-digit lead less than seven minutes into the game. Candace Parker scored 10 points, grabbed eight rebounds and blocked two shots, the last of which led to an easy layup by Auguste. Sidney Spencer also had 10 points. At the half, the Lady Volunteers were up 42-15. Amber Metoyer scored 13 points and had nine rebounds for Tech (2-4), while Jokierra Sneed and Shan Moore, each added 12.
No. 7 Connecticut 84, Boston U. 51
STORRS, Conn. -- Mel Thomas hit all four of her 3-pointers and Charde Houston had 12 points and 11 rebounds in Connecticut's win. Connecticut (3-0) opened with a 14-4 run and never let Boston (3-2) into the game. Thomas finished with 14 points, one of five Huskies to hit double figures. She was the only starter to play more than 20 minutes. UConn added first-half runs of 12-0 and 10-0, capped by consecutive 3-pointers from Thomas. The first came on an assist from Ketia Swanier, who threw a no-look bounce pass between her own legs to Thomas at the top of the key.
No. 10 Texas A & amp;M 64, Arizona 44
COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- Takia Starks scored 20 points and Morenike Atunrase added 18 to help Texas A & amp;M beat Arizona. Texas A & amp;M (6-0), which climbed into the top 10 for the first time in school history this week, also got eight points and nine rebounds from La Toya Micheaux. Ashley Whisonant led Arizona (4-3) with 14 points and Joy Hollingsworth added 13.
