LOWELLVILLE Air Compressor company expands

LOWELLVILLE -- Air Compressor Co. is nearly finished with a 300,000 expansion that will more than double the size of its East Liberty Street building.
Richard DeBucci of New Middletown, who founded the business in his garage 15 years ago, said the company ran out of space for its inventory.
The company provides new air compressors and parts to a variety of large and small industrial companies in eastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania, including Compco Metal Products and General Electric. Air Compressor Co. also services equipment at plants.
DeBucci said air is sometimes called the "fourth utility" because of its widespread use in industry as well as body shops and car repair shops.
DeBucci said he intends to hire two more workers to bring the company's employment to eight. The expansion will bring the company's office and plant to 11,000 square feet.
The owner said the company's sales have grown every year. He attributed the company's success to the willingness of employees to find new business and service accounts properly.
DeBucci moved the business to Lowellville nine years ago after outgrowing a previous location in New Springfield. DeBucci, 60, had worked for several other air compressor companies before deciding to strike out on his own.
