Kiddie porn found during computer repair

SALEM — The Columbiana County Sheriff’s office is investigating hardcore child pornography reportedly found on a man’s computer.

A search warrant unsealed Monday in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court said the storm-damaged computer had been taken by a Beloit man to the Salem Computer Center for   repairs.

The affidavit said a store worker backed up the files as part of the repairs, then randomly checked a file to make sure the file had been copied. The image showed a boy and girl, each naked and approximately 8 to 10 years old, engaged in a sex act.

A store worker contacted Salem police who contacted Detective Sgt. Allan Young of the sheriff’s office. Young obtained the warrant to seize the computer and its contents.
