Carson hearing rescheduled

WARREN — A hearing Tuesday on the unemployment compensation claim of former Trumbull County Administrator Tony Carson Jr. has been rescheduled to Dec. 6, at Carson’s request.

Jason Earnhart, the assistant Trumbull County prosecutor who was to cross-examine Carson at the hearing on behalf of the county, said he was told the reason for the delay is that Carson had a job interview in California that conflicted with the hearing date.

Earnhart said the county agreed to reschedule the hearing because the county stands to benefit from Carson’s getting a new job.

“That would end the payments,” Earnhart said of the $416 weekly compensation award Carson was given by the state after he abruptly resigned July 26.
