Penguins move to 2nd championship round

Youngstown State drove 88 yards in the final four minutes and pulled out a 35-31 victory over James Madision University in the opening round of the NCAA Division I Football Championships Saturday night at Stambaugh Stadium.

The Penguins (10-2) now advance to the second round of the tournament next Saturday when they meet Illinois State, also here at Stambaugh Stadium.

Junior quarterback Tom Zetts had a career night passing for 314 yards and one touchdown, while senior tailback Marcus Mason was held to just 72 yards rushing, but scored two touchdowns.
