Ohio Marine killed by roadside bomb

CANTON (AP) -- A 19-year-old Marine from Canton has been killed by a roadside bomb in Iraq, family members said.
The family of Pfc. Heath Warner was notified Wednesday that he had been killed that day, according to his father, Scott Warner.
Warner joined the Marines out of McKinley High School in 2005. He promised in a posting on his MySpace page to be back "very soon."
Warner's uncle, Tony Tenaglia, of North Canton, said Warner was a good student and hadn't hinted growing up that he wanted to enlist in the military. He apparently decided to enlist in response to the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, despite objections from relatives.
"He was determined to serve his country, and he went against the objections of everybody," Tenaglia said.
Pentagon spokesman Maj. Stewart Upton said it was military policy to withhold the name of anyone killed in action for at least one day after relatives are notified.
