A summary of recent criminal activity in Liberty and Girard:
LIBERTY
Nov. 17
Forgery: A 38-year-old Youngstown woman was taken into custody after a traffic stop near Gypsy Lane and state Route 193. She was wanted on a felony warrant charging her with forgery.
Assault: A 15-year-old student at Liberty High School, 1 Leopard Way, reported being assaulted as he walked to school. The boy was not hurt.
Theft: An employee at Goodwill Industries, 2747 Belmont Ave., reported his wallet stolen while at work.
Burglary: Someone entered a vacant apartment in the 1700 block of Naylor-Lloyd Road and removed 600 worth of copper piping.
Bad check: A worker for a Liberty business alleged an Ellwood City, Pa., man wrote a check to the business for work done, but that the check had been written on a closed account.
Criminal damaging: Someone caused about 350 worth of damage to a mailbox in the 1600 block of Shannon Road.
Criminal damaging: A worker at Belmont Pines Hospital, 615 Church Hill-Hubbard Road, went to her car and found its finish had been damaged with a key. Damage was estimated at 250.
Burglary: A woman returned to her residence in the 3000 block of North Gate Road and found the front door had been kicked in. Stolen were a large-screen TV, a laptop computer and 100 compact discs, for a total loss of 4,500.
Breaking and entering: While investigating a suspicious vehicle at Bud's Car Wash, 3622 Belmont Ave., police discovered someone had broken in through a rear door. A set of keys was stolen.
Nov. 18
Assault: A woman and her 12-year-old daughter told police a girl, 13, assaulted them in the 3000 block of Green Acres Drive. One victim had a scratch on her neck.
Drugs: After pulling a vehicle over near Logan Way for displaying fictitious license plates, police arrested a Youngstown man, 22, saying they found a bag of pills in the car. The man was wanted on misdemeanor warrants charging him with drug abuse and possession of a dangerous drug, and faced a separate charge of drug abuse.
Arrest: Officers picked up a 16-year-old Warren boy at a Mill Run Drive residence. The boy was wanted on felony warrants charging him with escape and receiving stolen property.
Arrest: Officers took custody of a Youngstown man, 35, at a BP gas station, 2703 Belmont Ave. He was wanted on a warrant charging him with failure to appear for a violation-of-protection hearing.
Theft: A Vienna woman reported the theft of a license plate from her vehicle while at Page's New Ages Diner, 1472 Church Hill-Hubbard Road.
Theft: A woman in the 1400 block of Townsend Avenue noticed a 100 AM-FM-CD player was missing from her vehicle.
Theft: A license plate was removed from a vehicle at a BP gas station.
Aggravated menacing: An employee at United Foreclosure Managers, 4300 Belmont Ave., told authorities a man threatened a co-worker over the phone with bodily harm and threatened to kill him for reporting it.
Aggravated menacing: A Holly Drive woman reported her boyfriend came to her residence without permission and threatened to kill her.
Theft: A man in the 6400 block of Sodom-Hutchings Road discovered two subwoofers, an amplifier and 100 CDs were stolen from his vehicle. The loss was valued at 1,050.
Nov. 19
Recovered property: A 1990 Oldsmobile was found after a Church Hill-Hubbard Road woman accused a man of taking it without permission.
Nov. 20
Theft: A Murray Hill Drive woman told police an Altoona, Fla., woman sent her a 166 check for a porcelain collectible doll, but that she found out the check was invalid.
Criminal trespassing: Authorities detained a 13-year-old Austintown girl after responding to a disturbance at the Liberty Public Library, 415 Church Hill-Hubbard Road. The teenager refused to leave and argued with police, they said.
GIRARD
Nov. 20
Burglary: A Plymouth Avenue man reported a .50-caliber firearm valued at 600 as well as a hunting coat missing from his basement. Police found no signs of forced entry.
Nov. 21
Truck theft: A Park Avenue man reported the theft of his 1995 GMC truck from his home.
