Struthers Board of Education met Tuesday and handled these matters:
Awarded a contract to ES & amp;C International of Youngstown for 17,150, for an engineering study of Struthers High School stadium. Dr. Michael Evanson, treasurer, said the study is primarily to determine the integrity of the stadium concrete.
Heard comments from Britt Taylor and Ed Ondrey, owners of the Ohio Phoenix, a minor-league football team on the possible use of Struthers football stadium for the team's five home games. They said games would be on Saturday nights June through September, but a schedule has not been set. Taylor said the team is seeking to join the North American Football League and become a minor-league organization from which the National Football League can draw players. Taylor and Ondrey said they would provide the board with more information at the December meeting.
