Youngstown Connection to perform in Philly's Thanksgiving Day parade
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Youngstown Connection, Youngstown City Schools' song and dance troupe, will perform in the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade. The Connection will perform with three other choirs as part of the America Sings national choir.
The Philadelphia parade is the nation's oldest Thanksgiving parade.
The Youngstown Connection has performed in 12 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parades, but this will be their first Philadelphia parade.
As always, a community service project will be included in the Connection's itinerary. The troupe will serve lunch to 500 people and perform at the St. John Soup Kitchen, compile snack Kits for Kids at a Ronald McDonald House and take food to the parade's food drive.
The troupe will also visit the historical sites of Philadelphia, including Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, Christ Church and museums.
The Youngstown Connection includes Maraiya Hakeem, Tamarah Harris, Yvette Gonzalez, Tera Lobaugh, Michaela Zullo, Arianna Manigault, Joshua Green, Kenneth Taylor, David Deeter, Derrick High, Craig Moton and Mar'Quise Davis.
