7 mobile homes burn in Warren Township

Tuesday, November 21, 2006

WARREN -- The state fire marshal's office has been called to investigate arson fires that spread to seven mobile homes at a Warren Township park.
Fire Chief Kenneth Schick said firefighters were called to Villager Mobile Home Park about 5:45 a.m. Monday by a resident. Schick said that someone set fire to sheds between or in back of the mobile homes and the flames spread to the homes. There were no injuries.
Two residences were destroyed, the chief said, and five may not be repairable. One was vacant.
Residents were forced to get help from the Trumbull County Chapter of the American Red Cross, and some went to live with relatives.
Schick said he would be returning to the park today to get an estimate of damage. Helping Warren Township firefighters put out the blazes were others from Lordstown, Braceville and Champion.
