Officials seek to IDbody found burned
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Mahoning County coroner's office and city police were attempting Saturday to identify a body burned beyond recognition. The body was discovered late Friday night at Millard and Kenyon avenues in the city's East Side. A neighbor told police about 11 p.m. that he smelled what appeared to be trash burning and walked down the street. He came upon a smoldering body, and police and fire department were summoned. Firefighters also arrived and extinguished the remains
Police said there was no identification on the body and they could not determine the gender.

Patrol still probesaccidents on I-80
AUSTINTOWN -- Ohio State Highway Patrol is continuing its investigation of two traffic accidents that occurred minutes apart on Interstate 80 near Meander Reservoir. The patrol said the accidents took place shortly after 6 p.m. Friday. There were no serious injuries, and the bridge over the reservoir wasn't closed to traffic.
They were the second and third accidents in a construction zone in the area since Thursday. Richard Crump, 76, of Hubbard, was killed Thursday in a three-vehicle crash. The bridge over the reservoir was closed for nearly 31/2 hours, the patrol said.
Injury accident in Pa.
ELLWOOD CITY, Pa. -- Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a two-vehicle accident along state Route 288 in Wayne Township east of here Saturday night. Police did not have the details of the 7 p.m. crash, but they said at least two helicopters were dispatched to take the injured from the scene.
Pa. hunters in military
MERCER, Pa. -- County Treasurer Virginia Richardson wants to make sure that members of the armed services home on leave for Thanksgiving will not miss the opening of deer season at daybreak Nov. 27.
She has made arrangements so that military personnel arriving home late for the holiday can obtain deer licenses from her office Nov. 25 by appointment even though the courthouse will be closed.
Richardson said appointments can be made by calling her office at (724) 662-4440. To obtain the 2 military deer licenses, applicants should bring a military ID, leave papers and proof of Pennsylvania residency. A doe license is available for an additional 6.
