Thunder's home opener is set for March 31

YOUNGSTOWN -- The Mahoning Valley Thunder arena football team's home opener will be March 31 at 7:05 p.m. against Tri-Cities (Washington state) at the Chevrolet Centre.
The Thunder of the arenafootball2 League will play a 16-game schedule for the team's inaugural season in 2007.
The Thunder's schedule was released on Friday and has seven other home dates for the Cortland Banks Field at the Chevrolet Centre.
The league consists of 30 teams -- 16 in the American Conference and 14 in the National Conference. The Thunder will compete in the East Division of the American Conference against Wilkes Barre-Scranton, Albany and Manchester.
Mahoning Valley will play two games, home and away, against Albany, Cincinnati, Manchester, Louisville and Green Bay.
