THANKSGIVING SERVICES At area churches



Area churches have announced Thanksgiving services. They are:
Boardman United Methodist Church and Good Hope Lutheran Church: Joint communion service at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Good Hope, 98 Homestead Drive, Boardman.
Brownlee Woods Presbyterian Church, 1970 Everett Ave., Youngstown: Ecumenical service at 7 p.m. Monday with Jeanine Haven, who will preach. Donations of canned goods and paper products will be accepted.
Christ Episcopal Church, 2627 Atlantic St. N.E., Warren: An ecumenical service with prayers and reflection at 4 p.m. Sunday. Participating churches are: Blessed Sacrament, Howland Community, Howland United Methodist, Living Lord Lutheran, Resurrection Romanian, St. John's Orthodox, St. Nicholas Orthodox and Seventh-Day Adventist. Refreshments will follow.
Girard churches: A community service at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Girard First United Methodist Church, 22 N. Market St., Girard. The speaker will be Sister Jean Orsuto of Emmanuel Community Care Center. Churches in Girard are participating.
Morning Star Baptist Church, 747 Willow St., Youngstown: Shenango Valley Baptist Association's Thanksgiving Day service at 10 a.m. Thursday with speaker the Rev. Walter Gillespie, associate pastor of Faith Temple Baptist Church in Campbell.
New Hope Baptist Church, 437 Albert St., Youngstown: Thanksgiving Day service at 10 a.m. Thursday with guest speaker the Rev. Gary Frost.
St. John's Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., Youngstown: A Thanksgiving Day service, including communion, at 10 a.m. Thursday.
St. Michael's Church, Canfield: Service at 6 p.m. Sunday and free-will offering will be accepted. Nonperishable food items will be accepted.
Wickliffe Christian Church, 3939 Potomac Ave., Austintown: Thanksgiving eve service at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
