Angels may bring gifts for children
Each paper angel contains an in-care child's holiday wish.
WARREN -- Northeast Ohio Adoption Services is conducting its annual Angel Tree project that provides gifts for foster children during the holidays.
Individuals and service and business groups may stop at the NOAS office, 5000 E. Market St., Suite 26, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and select a paper angel from the evergreen tree. Each angel contains a child's handwritten first name, age and holiday wishes.
Those selecting an angel are welcome to take donated gifts to the annual Angel Tree Open House to be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Dec. 5 at the Warren office. All gifts should be taken to the office by Dec. 8, so social workers can deliver them in time for the holiday.
Hundreds of children served by the child welfare system are represented by the paper angels.
Gere Weller of Liberty and Janet Weller of Canfield and their group of volunteers are organizing the project.
