COLUMBIANA -- St. Jude Catholic Church, 180 Seventh St., will hold an afternoon of praise, worship and exposition of the Blessed Sacrament from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Nov. 19. The Rev. Infant Jesus of Prague
BOARDMAN -- The Diocesan Infant Jesus of Prague Guild will hold its monthly Mass at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Infant Jesus Byzantine Catholic Church, 7754 South Ave. The rosary is scheduled for 9:30.
Advent retreat
VILLA MARIA, Pa. -- An Advent retreat weekend, "Jesus and the Advent of Nonviolence,' is planned from 7 p.m. Dec. 1 through noon Dec. 3 at Villa Maria Retreat Center. The Rev. John Dear, a Jesuit priest, will be the leader. He served as director of the Fellowship of Reconciliation, the largest interfaith peace organization in the U.S, and after Sept. 11, 2001, he served as Red Cross coordinator of chaplains at the Family Assistance Center. Father Dear is author and editor of more than 20 books and has lectured on peace to thousands at universities and churches across the United States. The cost is 160 that includes meals and overnight accommodations. Commuter rate of 100 is available. Registration is required by Wednesday. Musical ministry
YOUNGSTOWN -- Dan Schall of Harmony United Methodist Church, Zelionople, Pa., will present his music ministry during a worship service at 10:45 a.m. Nov. 19 at Mahoning United Methodist Church, 2214 Mahoning Ave. A love offering will be taken.
Workshop planned

First Friday Club
BOARDMAN -- The First Friday Club of Greater Youngstown will hold its monthly meeting from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 7 at Antone's Banquet Center, 8578 Market St. The speaker, the Rev. Joanne Paradise, pastoral minister at St. Sebastian Church in Pittsburgh, will address the topic, "Sexuality: The Sacred, the Fullness of Life." The cost is 15 per person or 120 for a group of eight. Homecoming speaker
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Rev. C.L. Ellis of Morning Star Baptist Church will speak during a homecoming service at 4 p.m. Sunday at Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church, 328 S. Forest St. The theme is "Use hospitality one to another without grudging."
Harvest of blessing
WARREN -- Grace African Methodist Episcopal Church, 1137 Main St. S.W., will celebrate its annual harvest of blessing service at 10:45 a.m. Sunday. Guest speaker will be Brother Wendell Webster, a licentiate at Greater Payne A.M.E. Church, Jacksonville, Fla., and son of Bishop Robert Vaughn Webster and the late Carole Ogleton Webster. He was ordained in July 2005. Those attending should wear fall colors and are asked to donate a canned good.
Pastor anniversary
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Rev. Wayne L. Fuller will mark five years as pastor of Mount Vernon Baptist Church, 2944 Wardle Ave., during a service at 3:30 p.m. Sunday. Guest speaker will be the Rev. James Mass of Gethsemane Baptist Church.
Concert at church
YOUNGSTOWN -- Holy Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, 505 Parkcliffe Ave., will present King's Dominion and Friends in concert at 6 p.m. Nov. 18. Guest soloist will be Nielah Shaw of Community Church of God in Christ in Warren, and other guest musicians will be Alonzo Smith, Antron Hill and G.
